Patrick To Do Reading at Bicentenary Dickens Dinner on Feb. 7th
Sir Patrick Stewart will provide Dickensian Entertainment for Bicentenary fundraising dinner at Mansion House in London on February 7, 2012 @ 6:45 pm GMT. The official Dickens 2012 dinner will be held with Dickensian entertainment including readings by Sir Patrick Stewart (A Christmas Carol) and musical performances by West End Kids. Proceeds of this event will be donated to the Great Expectations redevelopment fund of the Charles Dickens Museum. Tickets at £120 include a three-course meal, sherry reception, entertainment, gift pack. Patrick To Reprise Shakespeare Role in Bingo in 2012 @ Young Vic
Patrick Stewart will reprise his role in Edward Bond's 1973 play Bingo from February 16 to March 31, 2012 at The Young Vic Theatre in London. Bingo: Scenes of Death and Money is a fictional account of the retired William Shakespeare at his Warwickshire home in 1615 and 1616, suffering pangs of conscience in part because he signed a contract which protected his landholdings, on the condition that he would not interfere with an enclosure of common lands that would hurt the local peasant farmers. Patrick Narrates Film Opening Mummy Exhibit at VA Museum of Fine Arts
Featuring more than 100 objects from the internationally renowned Egyptian collection of the British Museum, Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb exhibit opens with a 3-D film, narrated by Patrick Stewart, which shows the virtual unwrapping of Nesperennub’s mummy, a temple priest who lived 3,000 years ago, using the most advanced scanning technology currently available. Peering beneath the linen wrapping, visitors will see how this temple priest may have looked and lived. These vivid details provide insight into the process of mummification as well as life expectancy, health, and disease in ancient Egypt. Patrick Voices Role in New Oz Animated Feature
Sir Patrick Stewart will voice the role of Tugg, a humorous adventure-seeking talking tree turned talking tugboat, in the animated feature Dorothy of Oz which will be released on April 1, 2012. In Dorothy of Oz, Dorothy has returned to Kansas, but found it devastated by the same tornado that had taken her to Oz. As a result of the damage, townspeople are moving away. But before Dorothy has time to react to this, she is whisked back to Oz, where the people need her help. Details and Interview
TNG Cast to Appear at Calgary Expo on April 28th
Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Wil Wheaton and Denise Crosby will be part of Star Trek® TNG EXPOsed – a full-cast reunion of Star Trek: The Next Generation® to be held at the Calgary Expo April 27-29, 2012. The special reunion event will be held at Calgary Stampede Corral on the evening of Saturday, April 28, 2012. This auspicious occasion marks the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation® and will be the first time in over twenty years that the cast has participated in an event such as this. Included in the evening’s program is a 90 minute panel discussion, a Q&A session, and a video presentation in honour of the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation®. A commemorative guide will produced solely for this event along with exclusive merchandise. This is a separate ticketed event with tickets going on sale through Ticketmaster on February 18, 2012 at 10 AM MST. Although the cast will be participating in various panels throughout the course of the weekend, Star Trek® TNG EXPOsed will be the only opportunity to see all nine of the cast members in one incredible panel.
