Patrick Wins TheatreGoers Choice Award for Hamlet
Patrick has won WOS TheatreGoers Choice Award in Best Supporting Actor category for Hamlet. A sellout production of Waiting for Godot starring theatrical knights & X-Men co-stars Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart was also voted Theater Event of The Year. Patrick To Star in Bingo @ Chichester Festival in April
Patrick Stewart will return to Chichester Festival's Minerva Theatre to appear in a new production of Edward Bond's 1973 play Bingo, due to run April 15-May 22. Tickets are now on sale. Bingo: Scenes of Death and Money is a fictional account of the retired William Shakespeare at his Warwickshire home in 1615 and 1616, suffering pangs of conscience in part because he signed a contract which protected his landholdings, on the condition that he would not interfere with an enclosure of common lands that would hurt the local peasant farmers. Hamlet Coming to PBS in April & Now Available on DVD
The Royal Shakespeare Company's 2008 production of Hamlet was filmed on location at St. Joseph's College, South London in June as a three-hour teleplay. Interview. Hamlet is now available on DVD in Region Two. DVD includes a 35-minute 'behind the scenes' documentary with interviews with David Tennant, Patrick Stewart and Gregory Doran. Order DVD from RSC. Patrick Knighted by The Queen!
Patrick Stewart has received knighthood in the New Year’s Honours list for his services to drama. Of this honor, Sir Patrick said he was "very proud" to be made a knight, adding the theatre has always been his "great joy". "In particular the past six years have given me acting opportunities that at one time I could not have imagined possible. This is an honour that embraces those actors, directors and creative teams who have in these recent years helped fill my life with inspiration, companionship and sheer fun." Patrick to Guest Voice in New Castlevania Video Game
Konami has announced the premiere of a new videogame title, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which is set to be released later in 2010 for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony. The game takes place at the end of time during which the Earth is no longer allied with the Heavens and the living are being preyed upon as the souls of the dead wander without finding peace. The main character is Gabriel, a member of the Brotherhood of Light, designated defenders of all the innocents. He has lost his wife to the forces of evil and his soul has been shattered. Gabriel needs to travel through the now destroyed world and use his Combat Cross to take out the rulers of the three factions that are making up the Lords of the Shadow. Vocal talent on this production includes Patrick Stewart as Zobek, Robert Carlyle as Gabriel, and also Natasha McElhone. More Details and Trailer
